Yields: 4 servings




"A great pasta sauce to enliven a tomato and beef pasta sauce. Try varying the spices for different flavours."

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/4 tablespoon dried basil
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
pinch garlic powder

DIRECTIONS:

1. Saute the beef, garlic and onion. Drain.

2. Stir in the tomato sauce, butter and sugar. Add the oregano, basil, salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. Cook over low heat until hot.
